Tuesday 11th September: Learnt short summeries of regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom. (BBFC, ASA, OFCOM, PCC). Discussed the Leveson enquiry and Rupert Murdoch's influence in global media.
Wednesday 12th September: Watched examples of other years A2 media film trailers.
Monday 17h September: Discussed within my group what type of genre of film we aim to create.
Wednesday 19th September: Researched similar films that relate to our target film such as Adulthood.
Thursday 20th September: Prepared a presetation for the class outlining the regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom.
Tuesday 25th September: Presented the presentation to the class.
Wednesday 3rd October: In theory we discussed the need for certificates on films and their meaning; U,PG,12,12A,15,18.
Friday 5th October: I researched into recent films that relate to the journe I hope to replicate.
Monday 8th October: I created a Word document containing analysis of film, characters, budget and it's success.
Friday 12th October: Read a BBC produced powerpoint ooutlining the effects of modern technology and how it may develop in the future with devices such as Smart TV's, decline of physical books (because of the internet and Kindle's).
Wednesday 17th October: This coursework lesson I annotated current film trailers such as sinister and began planning, with my team, the outline of our film trailer.
Monday 22nd October: In my team we began a draft script for our film trailer, we briefly included potential characters, such as a main male protagonist that will feature heavily.
*Half Term*
-Watched the film 'Heathers' as from suggestion from a team member, it would be a similar genre of film we hope to create.
-Experimented with iMovie on my Apple Macbook, in preparation of making the trailer. I became familiar with the different elements.
Monday 5th November: My group and I discussed the possible characters we would create for our trailer. We spoke to various drama students who said they would be happy to be involved. We decided on a main protagonists as a young female and male.
Tuesday 13th November: Created a mind map around the ideas of sounds that would feature in the trailer, both diagetic and non-diagetic. (Music, voice overs etc)
Monday 19th November: Began to form a presentation that pitches the film idea to an audience, which will gives us essential feedback on how to improve.
Wednesday 28th November: Script is being formed and important events in the trailer are being outlined.
Wednesday 5th December: Typed up analysis on the input the film 'Heathers' has had on our trailer idea.
Wednesday 12th December: Began research into 'Black Swan' and started a document on the analysis as to why I believe it was created.
Wednesday 2nd January: Typed up and posted research into my intended target audience and how modern technology correlated with the advertising of my film.
Thursday 3rd January: Created a mock up profile of my ideal target audience.
Monday 13th January: Made my target audience ideal profile.
Wednesday 16th January: Created a mind map with detailed ideas into my film trailer, for example:
- the main locations/ settings
- themes
- characters
- target audience
- physiological aspects
Thursday 31st January: Posted 'Adulthood' analysis/ case study.
Monday 4th February: Posted 'Black Swan' analysis/ case study.
Thursday 14th February: Edited version of my film presentation so that it can be posted on my blog...
Thursday 28th February: Researched into the figures of cinema attendance and the correlation between gender and the films they watch. Making significant points in terms of my own target audience.
Wednesday 13th March: Created a film company name (ClockWork Pictures) and researched the most successful companies of our modern time.
Thursday 14th March: Analysed 'The Da Vinci Code' trailer and posted it on my blog.
Friday 22nd March: Discussed filming schedules and ideas.
Sunday 31st March: Research other films with a similar genre to our 'body-swap'.
Wednesday 9th April: Post my findings on the other films that are considered inspiration, however we have a significant twist of style as our is not a comedic film. Filmed Jay and Nina scenes in school/ toilet/ car/ bath scene.
Thursday 10th April: Discussed and recorded potential locations for our film trailer:
Friday 11th April: Posted and received audience feedback for our script- they gave us some useful criticism of which we altered as they suggested. First cut of trailer completed.....
Audience Feedback....
We used the criticism to improve our final trailer.
Saturday 12th April: Created a series of logo designs for 'ClockWork Pictures' and used audience feedback to vote for the one they preferred. Edited the final cut of our trailer and received feedback...
Sunday 13th April: Began the film poster and magazine cover process.
Monday 14th April: Gathered all audience feedback, analysed the importance of it, finalised my film poster and magazine cover.
